Natasha Osawaru Irobosa, widely known to be the new partner of Nigerian music icon 2face, has been ousted from her role as Minority Leader in the Edo State House of Assembly.
Her dismissal, along with two fellow legislators, followed the execution of a directive issued by the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), prompting a slight reorganization of the House’s leadership.
Among those affected were officials holding the post of Chief Whip.
All three lawmakers belong to the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Osawaru’s removal attracted significant public interest, largely due to her widely talked-about romance with 2face.
The music star had recently accompanied her to several political functions and legislative gatherings, often sparking a buzz and, in some cases, disrupting proceedings due to the attention their relationship garnered.
Despite the controversy, the decision to remove her has been justified as purely political, with officials insisting it has no connection to her personal affairs.
