Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has denied claims that he has fallen out with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Upside Down Show with Nana Tuffuor Boateng and Frema Adunyame on May 4, he said, “I have not fallen out with the NPP,” dismissing rumours that he had cut ties with the party.
According to A Plus, some people believe he became distant from the NPP because he didn’t get what he wanted, or that he was ungrateful for what the party did for him. But he says these are false claims.
“These are all cooked-up stories,” he said.
He revealed that although the party gave him a job, things changed when he continued to speak his mind.
“I was given a job, but they expected me not to voice any criticisms. A month or two into the job, they let me go, claiming I was talking too much,” he explained.
A Plus also said he was unhappy with how he was paid. “Even after working for two months, I only received one month’s salary,”he added.
