Prof. Smart Sarpong, a Senior Researcher says the decision of some NPP MPs to go independent can affect the party’s victory in Election 2024.
Agona West MP, Cynthia Morrison, and MP for the Suhum constituency, Kwadwo Asante are contesting as independent candidates in the upcoming December 7 election. Efforts reportedly made by the party to change their mind have proved futile.
Speaking to this on ‘Kokrokoo‘ programme on Peace FM, Prof Sarpong stated: “From where I sit what Cynthia and co and any other division are doing is the only reason why maybe the NPP will lose. If everybody who voted for the NPP in 2020 votes again in 2024, natural order will mean they’ll remain in power; it’s balanced”.
