Aduana Stars coach Paa Kwesi Fabin suggested that the rain may have disturbed his side’s performance in their 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
Aduana took the lead in the 25th minute through Isaac Mintah’s goal, but Kotoko equalized through Stephen Mukwala’s poacher’s finish before Ivorian midfielder Serge Zeze sealed the victory with a stunning goal.

Despite the defeat, Aduana remain at the top of the league table with a three-point lead over second-placed Bechem United. Fabin, however, believes that the rain may have played a role in their loss, saying, “I thought we should have won the game because we created a lot of chances but we flopped them and we got punished. The onset of the rain also disturbed our pattern of play and that did not help us at all.”
“Oh yes, we are still on course. We are still leading with 3 points. We are going home and then definitely we are going to win at home and we see what happens,” he added.
Fabin is optimistic that his side can bounce back from the defeat when they return to their home ground to face Bibiani GoldStars on Wednesday, following a one-match home ban.
Aduana will look to extend their lead at the top of the table and maintain their position as the frontrunners for the league title this season.
