Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is currently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after sustaining gunshot wounds in a reported shooting incident, according to her Special Assistant, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Boakye.

The development follows reports of a violent altercation at the residence of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena, during which about 45 bullets were allegedly fired at her vehicle. A video circulating on social media is said to show the moment she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

Speaking on GhanAkoma on Akoma 87.9 FM, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Boakye confirmed that the former MP has undergone two surgeries and may be flown abroad for further specialised treatment.

“Adwoa has undergone two surgeries and is expected to be flown abroad for further treatment to prevent further damage to her face,” he stated.

Sources indicate that she is currently under care at the 37 Military Hospital, where she is being closely monitored by doctors following the procedures.

The aide did not disclose the specific destination for the possible overseas treatment but indicated that arrangements are being considered to ensure her full recovery.
