The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has urged Maripoma Enterprise Limited, the contractor handling the construction of the Dambai Bridge, to ensure the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and without compromising on quality.

Mr Agbodza stressed the strategic importance of the bridge to the Oti Region, noting that it will improve connectivity, enhance the movement of people and goods, and boost economic activities in Dambai and surrounding communities.

The Minister made the remarks during an inspection of the project as part of his nationwide road inspection tour of the Oti Region.

He urged the contractor to remain committed to timely delivery while strictly adhering to approved quality standards, emphasising that the project is expected to provide long-term benefits for residents and road users in the region.

Mr Agbodza noted that the Dambai Bridge is being financed by the Government of Ghana and must therefore be executed to the highest engineering standards to ensure it serves its intended purpose.

“We are doing this with our own resources. No amount of it is a loan we took from other countries, so Ghanaians must be proud that for once we are spending our own money to do something like this. I think the contractors will be guided and helped as much as possible to be able to deliver on time, on budget and without compromising on the quality,” he said.

The Minister further indicated that government expects the contractor to complete the project in a manner that demonstrates value for money and meets the expectations of communities that will benefit from the infrastructure.
