Ghanaian food influencer and content creator, Alhaji Theozzy, has opened up about why he decided to leave his 9-to-5 job as a biomedical scientist to fully focus on content creation.
Speaking in a candid interview with Reagan Marfo on Unscripted with Raygan, Theozzy shared that content creation has taken him to places his regular job never did, including a trip to South Africa.
According to him, the turning point came while he was returning to Ghana after the trip. During the flight, he reflected on how the opportunity came about.
“Content creation is the reason I went to South Africa in the first place. I have worked a 9-to-5 job for five years, and it never gave me that opportunity. So I asked myself, ‘What are you doing?’,” he said.
He revealed that immediately after returning to Ghana, he made a bold decision to resign.
“As soon as I returned, I wrote a resignation letter. I didn’t go back to the workplace again,” he added.
Despite his decision, Theozzy was quick to point out that 9-to-5 jobs are still valuable. He advised against quitting without having a solid alternative.
“9-to-5 jobs are good. I won’t advise anyone to quit if they don’t have something else they are holding on to,” he noted.
When asked whether content creation is financially rewarding, he responded confidently, stating that it pays well.
“Yes, it does pay. It pays a lot. I don’t want to lie that it doesn’t pay,” he said.

He also explained that the high rates charged by many content creators are justified because of the effort and resources involved in producing quality content.
Touching on his journey, Alhaji Theozzy said he officially started content creation in 2016 while studying at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). However, his passion began much earlier during his junior high school days, when he watched foreign YouTubers and drew inspiration from them.
He added that although he lost his YouTube account in 2020, he remained committed to the craft and has continued to grow his brand, especially in food content and vlogging.
