Legendary Ghanaian musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley has heaped praises on Afro-pop singer-songwriter, Wiyaala, commending her for the remarkable strides she has taken in projecting Ghana’s music and culture onto the global stage.
Ambolley, a trailblazer in the Highlife genre, spoke highly of Wiyaala’s unique sound and her dedication to preserving Ghana’s musical heritage while infusing it with a contemporary twist.
Speaking in a recent interview on Accra-based Kingdom FM, the veteran emphasised that Wiyaala’s approach to music reflects a deep understanding of Ghana’s diverse musical traditions and the importance of maintaining a strong connection to one’s roots and praised her for staying true to her identity while fearlessly pushing the boundaries of creativity.
