Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has pinpointed the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations as his best AFCON moment ever.

Gyan, Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer, reflected on his standout performance during the competition hosted in Angola.

Known colloquially in Ghana as the “one-goal project,” Gyan’s decisive strikes propelled the Black Stars through the tournament.

He netted a total of three goals, securing his place as the joint-second highest scorer of the event.

Gyan’s defining moment came in the quarterfinal clash against hosts Angola, where his lone goal clinched a 1-0 victory for Ghana.

He continued his heroics in the semifinals against Nigeria, again scoring the solitary goal that propelled Ghana to a 1-0 win and a spot in the final.

Despite his efforts, Ghana fell short in the ultimate match against Egypt, conceding a late goal in the 85th minute to lose 1-0.

The goal, scored by Egypt’s Gedo, dashed Ghana’s hopes of clinching the AFCON title.

Gyan’s declaration came in response to a call from the Confederation of African Football for past football greats to share their most cherished AFCON memories, highlighting the enduring impact of his stellar 2010 campaign.
