The Asanteman Council has placed a ban on all political activities at the seat of the Asantehene during the climax of its 25th anniversary.
Political figures have been warned not to show up with any political attire or symbol.
Chairman of the planning committee, Nana Otuo Siriboe disclosed this during the launch of the 25th anniversary of Asantehene on the Golden Stool.
He called on all to join hands to make the anniversary a successful one.
He appealed to politicians to desist from politicising the anniversary.
“We know we are in an election year. In as much as we want everyone to join the anniversary celebration, we are cautioning people to desist from wearing political party paraphernalia during the event. We don’t want anyone to take undue advantage to create an unnecessary tension during the event”, he stated.
He also debunked media reports that the Palace will ban funeral activities.
“Funeral rites would not be banned throughout the event” he said.
