Acclaimed Ghanaian broadcaster Abeiku Aggrey Santana has given his seal of approval to the book of renowned Ghanaian-American poet, writer, and Media Practitioner Apiorkor Seyiram Ashong-Abbey.
The book titled “When the Person Who is Called Covid Came” which was launched on Monday, September 11, 2023, drew a diverse crowd of attendees, including media personalities such as Abeiku Santana and Kofi Okyere Darko [KOD].
While serving as the auctioneer at the launch, Abeiku Santana endorsed the book by contrasting it with Yvonne Nelson’s book, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” which named names and caused a major stir.
According to the Tourism Ambassador and the Okay FM’s presenter, “After reading a few chapters of the book, you realize that there are some anonymities … You realise that names were not mentioned like the other books that gained popularity in Ghana after names were mentioned”.
In his usual effervescent form, Abeiku Santana gave the book a glowing review, calling it “great” and “very decent.”
“When the Person Who is Called Covid Came” is a 110-page book of poems narrating the individual struggles and triumphs that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a foreword by Ablah Dzifa Gomashie, current Member of Parliament for Ketu South and former Deputy Minister of Tourism.
