The end of another successful era, it is with Takoradi’s authoritative Media Mogul, Bishop.
Before this latest announcement (he made from his social media page, Facebook), Bishop, as he is affectionately known in the showbiz fraternity, was General Manager for ANAMIQ Media Company, which has New Day TV (Takoradi), Anidaso TV (Accra), and New Day FM (Azulati) under its subsidiary.
Bishop’s professional drive and magic touch saw rapid growth and vibrancy within the media network within a period of just 2 years when he assumed the position in August 2024. He oversaw the effective and smooth run of all the branches and, at the same time, was the key branch manager for New Day TV in Takoradi.
According to Joseph Andoh, who hosts the Morning Show on New Day TV, “Bishop is a result-oriented personality who believes in possibilities where it feels nonexistent. He made enormous con the lives of all of us who work under him and has always been a great listener while playing the role of a Team Leader as well.” Besides, “he made our Morning Show programming succinct that our viewership increased extensively within Takoradi and Western Region”, Joseph added.
The likes of Hon. John Dumelo (Ghana’s current Deputy Minister for Agriculture cum MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon), James Gardner, Benedicta Gafah, Kalybos, Foster Romanus, just to name a few (from the Cinema/Movie Industry), have leveraged on Bishop’s brand and events in Takoradi to amplify their respective brands there in the Western Region multiple times, successfully. His wings spread across the music business circles where he handled both major outdoor and indoor events that hosted the likes of Samini, Kwabena Kwabena, Kofi Kinaata, Kaakie, and a lot more. His Bishop Party Crew revived nightlife and club events immensely in Takoradi, accruing good profits for the ecosystem.
Beyond showbiz, Bishop has influenced many meaningful community projects and philanthropic works.
Known in real life as Samuel Appiah Gyimah, he has spent arguably about 3 decades of his life honing, refining, and redefining the showbiz terrain, not just in Takoradi, but across the entire Western Region, and even in the Central Region, where he ignited the ambition from Cape Coast University.
Come June 1, 2026, he officially takes down his cloak as General Manager of New Day TV to get back to his Bishop Party Crew and assume a new role as General Manager of Swagga Night Club.
