The Black Queens will take a 3-0 lead into the second leg of their Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games second-round qualifying tie against Mauritius at Essipong Stadium on Tuesday.

Ghana secured a commanding advantage in last Thursdays first meeting at the Cote dOr National Sports Complex in Mauritius, with Abigail Kim, Alice Kusi and Benedicte Simon all finding the net.

Victory, or a draw, would send Ghana through to the third round of the qualifiers as the Black Queens continue their pursuit of a historic first appearance at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.

The team has won each of its past three matches in all competitions, with the first-leg success providing the latest evidence of its strong run of form. Head Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegrens side will now aim to complete the job on home soil.

Mauritius face a difficult task after the heavy defeat in the opening leg, but will be seeking a response and an unlikely upset away from home. With the tie still to be decided over two matches, the visitors must overturn a three-goal deficit to keep their campaign alive.

Bjorkegrens squad held its official Matchday-1 training session at the Essipong Stadium on Monday evening as preparations continued for the decisive encounter.

The coach is expected to retain much of the team that started and won in Mauritius, although he may make changes to give other members of the squad an opportunity.

The match is scheduled to begin at 15:00hrs on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi.

Supporters in the Western Region are expected to turn out in large numbers as the Black Queens look to secure their place in the next round. Fans around the world can watch the game on Max TV and the Ghana Football Association YouTube page.
