The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Queens will face Tanzania in a preparatory international friendly on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The match will be played in Casablanca, Morocco, with kick-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. local time. The GFA announced the fixture on Sunday, providing the Black Queens with another important test as they fine-tune preparations for the continental tournament.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren is expected to use the encounter to assess his squad, improve tactical cohesion, and evaluate players ahead of the start of WAFCON.
The friendly comes after Ghana’s scheduled warm-up match against Nigeria was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The clash against Tanzania now offers the Black Queens a valuable opportunity to sharpen their form and build momentum before beginning their campaign at the tournament in Morocco.
