Eddie Abbew, a Ghanaian former bodybuilding champion broke down as he visited his childhood home in Ghana yesterday, 9th April.
The visit, according to him, brought back memories of struggle and resilience, prompting him to reflect on the pivotal moments that shaped his journey.
During his visit, Abbew was overwhelmed by emotions as he stood in the home where he endured many hardships. “It was humbling and explains a great deal about why I am the way I am,” he shared.
In an Instagram post shared yesterday Wednesday April 9, he reflected on the words of his late mother, who always believed in his potential despite the doubts of relatives.
“Eddie, there’s a reason why God has given you this great opportunity among all your siblings. He has a plan for you,” she told him, instilling a sense of purpose and determination.
Abbew, who received a scholarship to study abroad at just 15, expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he has had.
He recognised that his journey to success was made possible by the generosity of strangers who sponsored his education after learning about his story in Save The Children magazines.
