Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler says the club will make the best decision for Ghana international Ibrahim Osman as the young winger continues his bid to establish himself in the Seagulls first team.
Osman joined Brighton from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland but has so far found it difficult to secure a regular place in the Premier League sides senior squad.
The 21-year-old has spent much of his time away from Brighton gaining valuable first-team experience through a series of loan spells, featuring in France, the Netherlands and England during the previous campaign.
He started the season with French club AJ Auxerre before moving to Dutch giants Feyenoord, where he continued his development in a competitive European environment.
Osman later moved to England, joining Championship side Birmingham City for the second half of the campaign. He made 18 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
His spell at Birmingham gave him further experience of English football and allowed him to adapt to the physical and tactical demands of the game in England.
The Ghanaian has now returned to Brighton for pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with his performances already making an impression on Hurzeler.
Osman was given an opportunity to showcase his qualities during Brightons pre-season preparations and featured in the clubs impressive 3-0 victory over Italian giants AS Roma.
The performance provided another boost to his hopes of forcing his way into Hurzelers plans for the new season.
Hurzeler has acknowledged Osmans progress and revealed that he has been impressed with what he has seen from the winger so far.
However, the Brighton boss indicated that the club will not rush into a decision over Osmans future, with the Premier League outfit prepared to assess his situation carefully before determining the best next step.

The comments offer encouragement to Osman, who will be hoping his strong pre-season displays can convince the Brighton coaching staff that he is ready to compete for a more prominent role.

Osman is expected to have another opportunity to impress when Brighton face Italian Serie A side Bologna in a pre-season fixture on Saturday at 14:00 GMT.
The match could provide another important platform for the Ghana international as he looks to demonstrate that he can make the step up and become a regular part of Brightons first-team plans.
