England have received a major boost ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L encounter against Ghana after Bukayo Saka returned to full training with the squad.
The Arsenal forward trained with his teammates for the first time since England’s opening match against Croatia after recovering from Achilles tendinitis, an injury that troubled him towards the end of the season.
Saka, who missed a number of matches for Arsenal during the latter stages of the campaign, made a brief appearance in England’s opener, coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute for Noni Madueke.
After being limited to individual training sessions on Friday and Saturday, the 24-year-old rejoined the rest of Thomas Tuchel’s squad in full training, raising hopes that he could play a bigger role against the Black Stars.
England’s preparations have also been boosted by the return of Declan Rice, who has declared himself fit for the highly anticipated showdown.
The availability of two of England’s key players will come as welcome news for Tuchel as the Three Lions look to strengthen their position in Group L.
England will face Ghana on Tuesday, June 23, at Gillette Stadium in one of the standout fixtures of the group stage, with both nations hoping to take a significant step towards qualification for the knockout rounds.
