President Nana Akufo-Addo has honored his pledge of one million Ghana Cedis to support Medeama SC in the ongoing CAF Champions League.
The funds were handed over by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif to George Mireku Duker, the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, in the presence of Medeama SC management.
As Ghana’s representative in the competition, Medeama SC has accumulated four points so far. They secured a notable win against CR Belouizdad in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
They also achieved a one-all draw against Young Africans from Tanzania but suffered a 3-0 loss to Al-Ahly in the group stage games.
Medeama SC expressed their gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his commitment through a post on their Facebook account.
They believe that this support from the President will greatly enhance their chances of advancing to the next phase of the competition.
Next, Medeama SC will travel to Dar es Salaam to face Young Africans on December 20 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
They are determined to continue their journey in the CAF Champions League and showcase the talent of Ghanaian football on an international stage.
