Ghanaian youngster Caleb Yirenkyi has spoken about his joy and pride of representing his country as he builds up towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The FC Nordsjaelland midfielder, who is currently working under a former Ghana international at club level, reflected on the emotions within the camp following Ghana’s successful qualification for the tournament.
“I was quite happy to play for my country and to also play alongside these guys. We were very excited, everyone was happy after the qualification and also for the country,” Yirenkyi said.
The statement highlights the growing confidence and unity within the Black Stars camp as preparations intensify for the global showpiece in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Yirenkyi, one of Ghana’s emerging talents in Europe, is expected to play a key role in the team’s future as the Black Stars aim to make an impact at the World Cup.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before facing England and Croatia in Group L.
