The Ghanaian entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Cynthia Quarcoo, a renowned lawyer who worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.

Quarcoo, who was also the founder of Africa 1 Media, a talent management and public relations firm, died on June 21, 2023, after a long illness.

Quarcoo was born in Accra, Ghana, in 1970. She studied law at the University of Ghana and went on to work as a lawyer in private practice.

In 2005, she founded CQ Legal, a boutique law firm that specializes in entertainment, sports, and media law.

Quarcoo was a highly respected lawyer who represented a number of high-profile clients, including Sarkodie, Rocky Dawuni, Stonebwoy, Edem, Stephanie Benson, Reggie Rockstone, Bisa Kdei, and Samini. She was also the legal advisor to the Musicians Union of Ghana.

In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Quarcoo also served as co-counsel for the Ministry of Finance on the successful 2021 and 2020 USD 3 billion Government of Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bonds.

Quarcoo’s death is a great loss to the Ghanaian entertainment industry and to the legal profession. She was a brilliant lawyer and a dedicated advocate for her clients. She will be deeply missed.
