Chelsea have completed the signing of 18-year-old Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel from Santos.
The young talent has joined the Blues after impressing with his performances in his homeland.
Angelo made history in October 2020 when he became the youngest player to feature in Brazil’s top-flight league, debuting at the age of 15 years and 308 days against Fluminense at the iconic Maracana Stadium. Since then, he has continued to showcase his potential, scoring five goals in 129 games for Santos.
In April 2021, Angelo made headlines once again by becoming the youngest goalscorer in the Copa Libertadores, netting a goal at the age of 16. As a left-footed attacker, his skills and versatility have caught the attention of Chelsea’s scouts.
Although Angelo has represented Brazil at various youth levels, he is yet to receive a call-up to the senior national team. However, his performances have already earned him a move to one of the top clubs in European football.
Gabriel is Chelsea’s third signing of the summer transfer window. They already secured the services of French forward Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig for a reported fee of £52 million and Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal.
