A concerned citizen has criticised President John Dramani Mahama and authorities over the poor state of roads in the Ashanti Region after a VIP bus became stuck in a large pothole.
In a video circulating on social media, the individual questioned the government’s response to deteriorating road infrastructure, saying, “When we insult you, you will come and arrest us, but you can’t fix simple problems.”
The remarks have drawn attention to longstanding concerns about potholes, erosion and poor drainage on roads in the region, with motorists and commercial drivers citing vehicle damage, safety risks and increased travel times.
The incident has renewed calls for authorities to prioritise road rehabilitation and improve the condition of critical road networks in the Ashanti Region.
