Ghana’s Black Princesses are in Colombia preparing for the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup. The team recently played a goalless draw against Mexico in Bogota as part of their pre-tournament friendlies.
Up next, they will face South Korea as they continue their buildup to the competition.
Head coach Yussif Basigi expressed satisfaction with the team’s development: “It was a very good exercise for us though we wanted to play a medium-profile game before that match because it was a high-profile match. They are also contenders in the World Cup. We played them and we were very happy with the game that we played even though it was our first high-profile match.”
The Black Princesses will open their campaign against Austria on September 2 and then face Japan and New Zealand in their other Group E matches. South Korea will also take on Nigeria, Venezuela, and Germany on Group D.
