The Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations has addressed a document circulating on alleging that public funds have been misused.

The Ministry said it has taken notice of the document, which is being linked to claims that Minister Samuel Nartey George has “blown” public funds.

It explained that the document in circulation is part of a broader official submission seeking Commitment Authorisation from the , in line with established public financial management and procurement procedures and based on budgetary allocations approved by Parliament for the 2026 fiscal year.

According to the Ministry, the request covers planned projects, operational activities and programme interventions for the year under review.

It stressed that the Commitment Authorisation request has not yet been approved by the Ministry of Finance. As a result, no funds have been released, disbursed or expended on the referenced items.

The Ministry described claims suggesting that public funds have already been misused as inaccurate, misleading and lacking context, and urged that they be disregarded.

It reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and strict adherence to public financial management regulations in the execution of its mandate.
