In light of the festive season, the staff of DCI Microfinance Limited, a leading Microfinance Company in Ghana, has adorned the faces of people living on the streets with smiles as they fete them on the eve of Christmas.
The gesture which forms part of the values that the company represents, customer delight was met with gladness as the benefactors could not hide their joys after receiving their carefully packed meals. It marked the second time the staff hit the street with their charity gesture.
The Diamond Charity project is an annual exercise; that staff members of DCI Microfinance Limited embark on every year to show love to people living on the streets as enshrined in the holy books. It signifies a testament of the high values imbibed into the staff by the management of the organization. The staff led by some departmental heads distributed a total of 150 carefully packed hot meals with soft drinks to some persons with disabilities and street beggars.
The distribution took off from the streets of Christ the King Catholic Church through to the Nima-Kawukudi traffic light ensuring that every spot on the street benefits from the gesture. According to the Corporate Affairs Officer, Solomon Tetteh Adusu, most times, people who have families are the ones that tend to enjoy the Christmas season and much is forgotten about the less privileged and those on the streets.
He shared that, the staff of DCI identified the need to extend a charity hand to those on the street to send a message of love and hope to them. “Christmas is a time where families come together to make merry and give thanks. Those who find themselves in the streets for one reason or the other must not be left out of the season and that is why we are on the street to share the love of the season with them”, he said.
The smiles and appreciative language from the benefactors proved how little acts of kindness can be impactful to the less privileged and the vulnerable. It is worth knowing that, the charity works of the staff of DCI Microfinance Limited stands differently from the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
