Hearts of Oak have intensified efforts to sign Debibi United midfielder Demetrius Sarkodie as the club continues its rebuilding process ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder was instrumental in Debibi United’s successful Division One League campaign, helping the club secure a historic promotion to the Ghana Premier League. Sarkodie capped off an impressive season by scoring the decisive goal in a crucial 1-0 victory over Berekum Arsenal during the title race in Zone One B.

Sources indicate that Debibi United are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder, with negotiations expected to advance in the coming days. His consistent performances have attracted interest from several Ghana Premier League clubs, although Hearts of Oak are believed to be leading the race for his signature.

The Phobians are keen to strengthen their squad after finishing third in the just-ended league season. However, the club must first resolve a FIFA-imposed transfer ban linked to an outstanding case involving former coach Rene Hiddink before completing any new signings.
