Dreams FC coach Karim Zito has emphasised the club’s policy of focusing on young players rather than established ones, as it helps transform the lives of aspiring young football players.

Dreams FC, primarily made up of young players, recently defeated title contenders Asante Kotoko 2-0 in Dawu.

In an interview with 3Sports, Zito said the club prioritises signing players under the age of 25, with the exception of those who play for the national team, in order to provide them with the opportunity to receive top-level coaching and elevate their game.

According to Zito, the club’s emphasis on youth development has been successful, as no player under his tutelage has failed in Europe.

He said, “We at Dreams deal seriously with the youth. Before we sign a player, we look at his age. We do this to change their lives. We can’t do that if the player is 25 years and above unless that player is playing in the national team.”

“We give the young ones the tuition of the Europeans. There is nobody from me that goes to Europe and fail. Michelle Sarpong coming in will also help us to change some faces because he has the background of Hearts of Oak.”

Dreams are ninth after the first round of this season’s Ghana Premier League.
