Dua Lipa is suing electronics giant Samsung for at least $15m (£11m), accusing the company of using her image on TV packaging without her permission or payment.
The case has been filed in a US district court in California. According to court documents, Samsung allegedly used a photograph of the singer on packaging for a range of televisions sold in the US last year. Lipa claims she only became aware of the image in June 2025 and immediately demanded its removal, but says the company refused and was “dismissive and callous”.
The lawsuit argues that the use of her image falsely suggested an endorsement and violated her rights, including copyright and publicity laws. It also claims Samsung benefited commercially from her popularity, citing online comments from fans who said they would buy the product because of her appearance on the packaging.
Lipa, who has endorsement deals with major global brands including Apple, Porsche and Versace, is seeking a court order to stop further use of her image as well as damages of not less than $15m, plus additional punitive costs. Samsung has not yet responded to the claims.
