The Adentan Circuit Court has remanded Evans Eshun popularly known on social media as Ebo Noah into police custody and directed that he undergo a psychiatric evaluation at a government health facility ahead of his next court appearance.

The order was issued when Eshun appeared before the court, presided over by Her Honour Angela Attachie. The court further directed that he be remanded to reappear on January 15, 2026.

According to the prosecution, Eshun, a 33-year-old private security guard is facing charges linked to a series of videos he posted on Facebook, TikTok and YouTube between August and December 2025 under the handle @Ebonoah. In the videos, he claimed that the world would be destroyed by a flood on December 25, 2025 and that he was constructing an ark to save people.

Prosecutors contend that the statements were made without lawful authority and were intended to cause fear and panic among the public.

The Ghana Police Service, the complainant in the case, said the accused was arrested on December 31, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation at Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region.

During investigations, Eshun is said to have admitted in a cautioned statement to producing and circulating the videos. He reportedly explained that the boat he referred to as an “ark” did not belong to him but to a fisherman at a boat yard in Edina in the Central Region. He also admitted that his claims about an impending flood were false.
