Ampem Darkowaa Sarfo, an educationist, has officially launched the Talk2Me Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls across Ghana.

The Talk2Me Foundation envisions a future where every girl is heard, feels confident, and empowered to realize her full potential.

Its mission is clear: to ensure that every girl has fair access to basic necessities and educational opportunities, irrespective of her socio-economic background or geographical location. The Executive Director of Talk2Me Foundation, Ampem Darkowaa Sarfo, said:

“Talk2Me Foundation is breaking the cycle of poverty by empowering girls to explore opportunities in education, leadership, and career development.

The foundation, since its inception, has engaged close to 10,000 girls, providing them with a supportive environment where they can express themselves, gain knowledge about reproductive health, children’s rights, and climate change, and become advocates for their communities.”

At the heart of the foundation are its core values, which include empowerment: encouraging girls to realize their full potential; inclusivity: providing equal opportunities for all girls; innovation: embracing new solutions to enhance the lives of girls worldwide; and leadership: cultivating future leaders among girls.

Mr. Victor N. Tawiah, Director of Education, Ga West Municipal, said: Empowering girls in the Ga West Municipality, the Greater Accra Region, and then Ghana in the long term, is a good initiative since an empowered girl will become the change-maker of tomorrow. Creating a supportive environment for girls to thrive is critical to empower the next generation of female leaders.”

The Talk2Me Foundation is committed to empowering the girl child holistically through its 3L Model: Listen, Learn, and Lead.

To achieve its goals, the foundation engages in a range of interventions including community engagement and outreach, educational workshops, and promotional campaigns.

Mr. Thomas Narh, the coordinator of Zoomlion Foundation, mentioned: “Zoomlion Foundation believes in the vision of Talk2Me Foundation. That is why we made the decision to partner with the foundation on the occasion of its launch and the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child.

We will continue to support the foundation’s activities to make a significant difference in the lives of many girls. No matter the girls’ starting point in life they must have an equal chance to pursue their aspirations.”
