New Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has set his sights on winning trophies after officially taking charge of the Ghanaian giants ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The experienced South African tactician was unveiled as the club’s new head coach as the Porcupine Warriors look to bounce back from a disappointing campaign and challenge for honours once again.

Speaking after his appointment, Tinkler said he was delighted to join one of Africa’s biggest clubs and is eager to help restore Kotoko’s winning tradition.

“I am honoured and excited to join one of Africa’s most storied football institutions. Asante Kotoko’s rich history, passion for success and ambition for development is not hidden in Africa,” he said.

The 55-year-old also outlined his ambitions, insisting he wants to assemble a team capable of competing for titles both in Ghana and on the continent.

“I look forward to working with the players, staff, and management to build a team that can compete and win, both at home and on the continental stage. I feel proud to be associated with this great club at this historical moment.”

Kotoko supporters will now be hoping Tinkler’s experience and winning mentality can help the club return to the summit of Ghanaian football.
