Ghana forward Enerst Nuamah has been included in the 100-man shortlist of the 2023 Golden Boy Award following his impressive performance for FC Nordjaelland in the Danish Superliga.

The Golden Boy Award which is given by sports journalists to the most impressive young male footballer under the age of 21 playing in Europe during a calendar year has seen many winners and nominees rise to fame in previous years.

Nuamah, a product of the Right to Dream academy proved to be a key figure for the Danish giants scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 21 league appearances while making a total of 19 goal contributions in all competitions despite missing out on the championship to FC Copenhagen.

The 19-year-old has also been instrumental for his country playing a crucial role for the Black Meteors who are currently camped in Egypt ahead of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nuamah provided two crucial assists in the last round of qualifiers propelling Ghana to qualify for the tournament.

His remarkable performances earned him a call-up to the senior national team the Black Stars as he eventually earned his debut from the beach on Sunday when Ghana engaged Madagascar in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Ernest Nuamah also won three individual awards as he bagged the Danish Superliga Player of the Year by the league’s jury, Spring Best Player by the Superliga head coaches and Player of the Year by the Superliga players.

Another Ghanaian name that appeared on the list is Christopher Bonsu Baah who plays for Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08 FF.

Three Ghanaians have been nominated in the last three years including two other former Right to Dream and FC Nordjaelland players Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana who made the list in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Former AS Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan was also nominated in 2022.
