Swiss Super League giants FC Basel have donated football kits and training equipment to colts football clubs, women’s teams and educational institutions across Ghana’s Upper West Region.

The donation included multiple sets of jerseys, socks, training wear and tracksuits, providing much-needed equipment for young footballers and teams in the region.

The items were presented by Lead Sports Editor at Joy Sports, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo.

The initiative was facilitated by football agent Alex Acquaye through his close working relationship with the 21-time Swiss champions.

It marks the second consecutive year that FC Basel have donated football equipment to beneficiaries in Ghana, following a similar gesture in 2025.

Among the educational institutions that benefited from the latest donation were Tumu Senior High Technical School, St. Clare’s Technical and Vocational Institute, Vamboi Basic School and Bandei Basic School.

Football clubs and teams that received kits included Chiewie Ladies, Soccer Babies Football Club, Kulfuo Dreams FC, Malima FC, Kong Danger Stars and Hilla Stars.

The donation forms part of efforts to support grassroots football development and provide young players with the equipment they need to train and compete.

FC Basel, one of Switzerland’s most successful clubs, have a long-standing reputation for developing young talent and investing in football development.
