Tributes have been pouring in from football fans, federations, and current and former footballers for Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan since his official announcement of hanging his boots after an incredible career.

The 37-year-old having last played for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities in 2021 made the announcement at the 30th Afreximbank Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Despite not featuring for Ghana in over five years, the former Black Stars skipper retires with the prestigious record as Ghana’s all-time top scoring with 51 goals in 109 appearances as well as holding the record as the African with the most World Cup goals.

FIFA, CAF, GFA, former clubs and teammates and many more stakeholders of the game have paid tribute to Gyan.
