The Black Stars played a 2-2 draw against Mozambique in the final AFCON group match on Monday, January 22, 2024 in Ivory Coast.
Jordan Ayew netted a brace against the Mambas last night all from spot-kicks but his goals were cancelled out subsequently courtesy of two late goals from Geny Cipriano and Renildo Mandava.
The draw means the four-time champions ended the campaign with just two points from a defeat and two draws finished third in Group B and have a smaller chance of advancing to the knockout stage.
Immediately after the match, Ghanaian dancehall/reggae star Samini took to X to vent his frustration.
In a series of tweets, the celebrated Dancehall/reggae star expressed his disappointment with the Black Stars’ performance. He criticized Dede for picking up an early yellow card and causing problems for the team.
He also pointed out that Kudus wanted to take his penalty, but didn’t get the chance, which demoralized him.

In response to Samini’s tweets, a Twitter user with the name KB Gram insulted him, calling him a foolish northerner. This didn’t sit well with Samini, who threatened to come after the user.
