Former Ghana defender Rahim Ayew has completed a move to Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps FC.

The 35-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the club, making the switch from their rivals Bruno Magpies.

Ayew’s current contract with Bruno Magpies will expire on June 30, 2023, and he is set to be officially unveiled as a Lincoln Red Imps player during the summer.

Having already commenced training with his new team, Ayew is preparing himself for the upcoming league season.

The experienced player, who is the son of legendary Ghanaian footballer Abedi Pele, has spent the past three seasons competing in the Gibraltar league. He previously played for Europa FC and Bruno Magpies.

Prior to his time in Gibraltar, Ayew had stints with Belgian club Lierse, Egyptian giants Zamalek and Asante Kotoko.

Ayew was part of the Ghana squad that made it to the quarter-final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
