Ghanaian midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has completed a move to Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic, signing a three-year contract with the Casablanca-based club.

The 27-year-old joins Raja after becoming a free agent following the end of his spell with Spanish side SD Huesca, bringing an end to weeks of speculation linking him with a move to the Botola Pro outfit.

Reports earlier this month indicated that Raja were keen to secure the services of the former Dreams FC midfielder, with negotiations progressing rapidly in recent days.

Agbekpornu arrives in Morocco with valuable experience gained across several European leagues. After beginning his professional career with Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC, he moved to Albanian club KF Egnatia in 2021, where he helped the team win the Albanian Cup during the 2022-23 season.

He later joined Croatian top-flight side Slaven Belupo before securing a move to Spanish club Huesca earlier this year.

Although his stay in Spain was brief, the midfielder featured in 10 LaLiga2 matches during the 2025-26 campaign and attracted interest from several clubs following his departure from Huesca.

Raja eventually won the race for his signature as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The move marks another significant step in Agbekpornu’s career as he joins one of Africa’s most successful and widely supported clubs.

Raja Club Athletic, multiple-time Moroccan champions and former CAF Champions League winners, are aiming to challenge for domestic honours and make a strong impact in continental competitions.

For Agbekpornu, the transfer also offers an opportunity to re-establish himself at the highest level after his departure from Spain.

His physical presence, defensive discipline and ability to control the tempo of matches are expected to add quality and depth to Raja’s midfield options.
