Forty Acquire Permanent Makeup, Business Management & Digital Skills | Social

Forty staff of Marie Noelle Spa who underwent comprehensive three-month training program in Competency Based Training in Permanent Makeup, Business Management and Digital Skills have graduated in a ceremony, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

The event was described by the CEO of Marie Noelle Spa, Marie Noelle Yakubu as an achievement of a milestone as it culminated of a journey aimed at equipping her staff with the latest skills and knowledge to excel in the beauty and wellness industry in Ghana.

The program, funded by the Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF), was born from Marie Noelle Spa and Salon Management’s commitment to continuous improvement and staff development.

Recognizing skill gaps in technical expertise, business acumen, and digital integration, the salon partnered with the renowned Arts and Skills Technology Institute (ASTI) to design a tailor-made training program.

“Our goal was to empower our staff with the tools and knowledge they need to not only provide exceptional service but also contribute to the salon’s growth and success,” said Marie Noelle Yakubu, CEO of Marie Noelle Spa and Salon. “We are grateful to the GSDF for their support and to ASTI for their expertise in delivering this invaluable training.”

The President of the Arts and Skills Technology Institute, Rebecca Donkor stated that skills training is not just about imparting knowledge but about empowering individuals, particularly women and the youth, to create jobs and contribute to the growth of the economy.

Rebecca Donkor commended the GSDF for its continual backing of training projects like this which enables training institutions across the country to thrive and make a difference. She said management of Marie Noelle Spa and Salon entrusted them with the company’s greatest asset, staff and not only honed participants’ skills, but ignited their inner entrepreneurs, empowered their artistic voices, and equipped them with the digital savvy to navigate the ever-evolving beauty landscape she added.

The intensive program covered a wide range of topics, including, Permanent Makeup, Theory and practical sessions that delved into various aspects such as brow techniques, lip liner, lash techniques, ombre and micro blading techniques all aimed at equipping participants with the skills to offer unique services to meet dynamic demands of today’s clients.

Concerning business management and Digital Skills, participants honed their entrepreneurial skills in new service development, marketing, learning to leverage digital technologies for enhanced salon operations and client engagement.

This program will not only benefits the salon and its staff but also contributes to the broader goal of building a skilled and competitive workforce in Ghana.

With their newly acquired skills and knowledge, the graduates of Marie Noelle Spa and Salon are now poised to play a vital role in the salon’s future success.

GSDF is a challenge fund mechanism which addresses the skills needs of enterprises operating in both the formal and informal sectors of the economy of Ghana.

The Fund is a demand-driven response to two of the most critical challenges encountered by the productive sectors in Ghana, namely a qualified and skilled labour force and the acquisition and development of technology towards increased productivity and practical innovations.

The primary beneficiary targets for this fund include micro and small enterprises that seek to grow their businesses in order to create more jobs and increase productivity.

These enterprises can come from the formal and informal sectors.

About the Arts and Skills Technology Institute (ASTI)
ASTI is both a pre-tertiary and a tertiary educational institution accredited by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) to run programs on the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF) as per the CTVET Law Act 716 2006.

The Institute also offer bespoke training services customized to industry needs and client requirements across Beauty, Fashion, Creative Arts, Entrepreneurship and Digital Skills and dedicated to fostering an academic community that ensures our students pursue experiential learning among our many industry partners.
