Four players have secured places in the Black Queens squad for the upcoming June camping programme following a successful screening exercise aimed at identifying new talent for the national team.

Goalkeeper Osman Huzeima of Jonina Football Academy, Diana Amoako of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, and Mavis Owusu, who plays for Fomeget GSK in Turkey, impressed during the assessment and have been rewarded with call-ups to the senior women’s national team.

The trio emerged from a two-day screening programme supervised by Black Queens B head coach Yusif Basigi and closely monitored by Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren. The initiative formed part of efforts to strengthen the national team by identifying players capable of making an impact at the highest level.

They will be joined by Portugal-based midfielder Louisa Animwaa, who earned a place in the squad after completing an impressive campaign with Valadares Gaia.

The quartet is expected to report for camp on June 1 as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The coaching staff hopes the new additions will increase competition for places and enhance the team’s prospects ahead of the continental tournament.
