Ghana captain Jordan Ayew says his primary focus is on enjoying the 2026 FIFA World Cup as speculation continues over his club future.

The 34-year-old forward is set to become a free agent at the end of June when his contract with Leicester City expires. However, Ayew insists he is not rushing into a decision regarding his next move and is concentrating fully on Ghana’s World Cup campaign.

Speaking ahead of the Black Stars’ international friendly against Wales on June 2, Ayew said any decision about his future club will be made later in consultation with his family and representatives.

“When the time comes, I’ll make the decision with my family and representatives. There’s no rush. I just want to enjoy myself at the World Cup,” he said.

Ayew remains one of the most experienced members of the Black Stars squad and is expected to play a key leadership role at the tournament.

Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, Croatia, and England.
