As a matter of urgency, the elders and the youth of the Frafra Community in Accra have called on security agencies and other stakeholders to swiftly stop the illegal installation of one Abass Nyaaba as Frafra Chief in addition to the already Frafra Chief of Greater Accra in the person Naba Jibril Ayamba.
Information gathered by Frafra Community Greater Accra indicates that some few members of the Council of Zongo Chiefs including one of the executives in the Asante region are planning to impose on them one Abass Nyaaba as Frafra Chief in addition to the already Frafra Chief of Greater Accra in the person Naba Jibril Ayamba.
According to them, if the information they have gathered is true, then such unlawful action is likely to plug the region into chaos if not addressed properly.
In a press release issued and copied to this portal, Frafra Community Greater Accra entreated security agencies and other stakeholders to swiftly intervene to stop this illegality and cool down the already growing tension within Frafra Community here in Accra.
Background
After the demise of the late Frafra chief, Asomah Osman Musah, in November 2020, Naba Jibril Ayamba was selected by the five kingmakers (5) against one (1) for the said Abass Nyaaba and Naba Jibril was subsequently enskinned as the Frafra Chief of Greater Accra.
A letter of recognition and certificate was issued to him on the 25th of March 2021 by the Council of Zongo Chiefs Greater Accra, the umbrella of tribal chiefs in Ghana.
He was introduced to the Ga-Traditional Council, the custodians of the Ga Land. The traditional authority also issued a letter of recognition dated the 21st of June 2021. Naba Jibril Ayamba was again taken to the National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr Osman Nunu Sharubutu for his blessing. Naba Jibril Ayamba is the known and recognised Frafra chief.
We, the elders and Frafra Community within and outside Accra, are therefore surprised and very shocked that the Council whom our chief is a member, has allowed the said Abass Nyaaba who has been parading himself as Frafra Chief to introduce himself as Frafra chief to members of the council.
