Ghana defender Daniel Amartey is set to join Besiktas, with the Turkish giants planning to announce his arrival this week.
The club’s sporting director, Ceyhun Kazancı, has confirmed that they have made significant progress in negotiations with Amartey, who has expressed his interest in joining them for the upcoming season. It is reported that they have reached an agreement on a three-year contract.
Besiktas has also made notable progress in their pursuit of Russian midfielder Daler Kuzyaev.
Kazancı said, “We’ve made progress on Daler Kuzyaev and Daniel Amartey. Both players will be announced this week. “We are trying to complete the transfers.”
Daniel Amartey recently concluded his seven-year tenure with Leicester City as his contract expired on June 30, coinciding with the club’s relegation from the Premier League. The centre-back had a remarkable start with Leicester, winning the league title in his debut season. He also played a significant role in the club’s FA Cup triumph in 2021.
Following his departure from Leicester, Amartey had been linked with a potential move to Celtic. The speculation arose due to his previous association with Brendan Rodgers, his former coach at Leicester City who is now in charge at Celtic.
