The launch of the 2026 GaDangme Homowo Festival Celebrations and the GaDangme Youth Sports Festival, Tourism and Awards Programme has been postponed from June 28 to July 25, organizers have announced.
The GaDangme Unity Organization, in collaboration with traditional authorities, said the decision was taken to allow for the smooth observance of customary rites leading to the annual Nungua Homowo Festival on July 3.
Organizers also cited Ghana’s upcoming FIFA World Cup clash against Croatia as a factor, noting that several invited dignitaries and stakeholders are expected to travel to the United States for the match.
In a statement, organizers said the rescheduling would ensure maximum participation and avoid a clash with major cultural and sporting events. They apologized for any inconvenience and appealed for the understanding and continued support of participants, sponsors and stakeholders.
Meanwhile, SEM Promotions will stage the second edition of the “Night of Republic Day” boxing event at the Bukom Boxing Arena on July 31.
