The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), has held its 2023 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the Garrison Methodist Presby Church, Burma camp.

The event held yesterday, December 20, 2023, was to allow the two organizations come together in the spirit of the holiday season and celebrate Christmas. It served as a platform for the two institutions to also showcase the unity that exists between them, promote cultural exchange, and strengthen the bond between the GBC and the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, on international scenes, the Force has been able to maintain a good image and respect in the various peacekeeping theaters where they operate – in South Sudan, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau, through discipline, dedication, and a professional posture.

“I believe it is in recognition of these attributes and qualities that our country, Ghana, was chosen by the United Nations (UN) in the international community to host the peacekeeping ministerial conference in Accra, which was held from December 5th–7th 2023. It was a well-organized and highly successful conference that has raised Ghana and the Ghana Armed Forces in the international community.” He added

He urged members of the Force to maintain, resolve, and protect the unity of purpose, collective will, and determination to succeed in efforts to maintain the integrity of Ghana.

At the event, there were words of exhortation and encouragement from Rev. Commodore Paul Adjei-Djan and some performances from Apowa Youth Choir, Chorale Africa, Olive Evangel Choir, The Apostolic Voices of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, GMPC Choir, the Evergreen GBC Choir, and other military choirs to grace the occasion.
