The Ghana Football Association has taken another step towards strengthening grassroots football after unveiling the Kivo U17 Regional Juvenile Clubs Champions League in partnership with Procus Ghana Limited.
The newly introduced competition is expected to bring together Colts clubs from across the country in a structured regional championship aimed at improving youth football and discovering the next generation of Ghanaian stars.
The initiative forms part of a three-year agreement between the GFA and the Kivo brand, with both parties hoping the tournament will create more opportunities for talented youngsters at the juvenile level.
For years, many young footballers in Ghana have struggled with limited exposure and inadequate competitive platforms at the grassroots level. The new competition is expected to address that challenge by giving players regular high-level matches to prove their worth.
Officials believe the tournament could also help clubs and scouts identify emerging talents earlier while providing a stronger developmental pathway for players hoping to rise into the highest echelon of the game.
Speaking after the announcement, Head of Marketing at Procus Ghana Limited, Evans Cofie, stressed the company’s commitment to supporting young football talents across the country.
“This partnership is about investing in the future of Ghana football and giving young talents across the country the opportunity to grow and succeed,” he said.
The competition is expected to begin in the coming months and is already generating excitement among juvenile football clubs and stakeholders within Ghana’s football circles.
