The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) has taken delivery of 500 pieces of football from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) through the FIFA Forward program.

This is aimed at supporting the Regional FA in grassroots football development in the Volta Region.

In the coming days, the RFA will distribute the footballs to the seventy-three (73) Division Two clubs, 14 Women Division One League clubs, and the nineteen District Football Associations for the support of Division three and juvenile clubs, respectively.

At the recently held 29th Session of the GFA Congress, the GFA President, Mr. Kurt Okraku, announced that an amount of $100,000 via the FIFA Forward program has been allocated to purchase footballs for the various Regional Leagues as part of the Association’s plans to improve and support Regional Leagues across the country.

The FIFA Forward provides 360-degree, tailor-made support for football development in every FIFA member association and the six confederations in which Ghana and, by extension, Volta are beneficiaries.

Also, the Regional FA has received some basic referee equipment to improve the development of Catch Them Young Referees in the region.
