Ghana steps up preparations for crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and CAR (Pictures)

Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, have completed their second training session at the University of Ghana Stadium, as they gear up for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR).

The training session, held on Saturday, was overseen by head coach Otto Addo and his technical team. The squad was bolstered by the arrival of Osman Bukari, who joined his teammates to bring the total number of players in camp to 25.

Alexander Djiku who missed the two sessions due to an arm injury he sustained during Fenerbache’s final game of the season will join the rest of the squad for training at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday.

Ghana is currently in a bad position in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers, having had a mixed start with one win and one loss in their first two matches. The team began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi, but then suffered a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.

The upcoming qualifier against Mali is set for Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, kicking off at 19:00. Following that, Ghana will face the CAR at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
