Ghanaian actor, comedian and media personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto has died.
The entertainer, widely known for his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular Ghanaian television series Efiewura, died on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Reports say he collapsed during a radio show at Owass Radio in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region, where he lived.
He was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to a source in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to which he belonged.
He was 51 years old. His death comes barely weeks after images of him looking unwell went viral on social media.
His reported death marks the loss of a familiar face in Ghanaian entertainment, where he built a career spanning television, radio broadcasting, comedy and voice-over work.
A household name through Efiewura
Dzokoto became widely recognised for playing Judge Koboo in Efiewura, one of Ghana’s well-known local television productions.
His performance helped establish him as a recognisable figure in Ghanaian homes, with the character becoming one of the defining roles of his entertainment career.
Beyond acting, Dzokoto demonstrated his versatility as a television presenter, particularly through TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban.
The programme explored Ghanaian cuisine and local food culture, introducing audiences to different meals and culinary experiences across the country.
His work in television, alongside his comedy and advertising voice-overs, helped build his profile as an entertainer who could connect with audiences across different formats.
Broadcasting and voice-over career
Dzokoto also had a career in radio, working with stations including Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.
His broadcasting work complemented his television appearances and voice-over assignments, making him a familiar voice as well as a recognisable face.
His career reflected a range of interests within the media industry, from comedy and acting to presenting and broadcasting.
Entry into politics
Outside entertainment, Dzokoto ventured into partisan politics under the banner of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election, taking his public profile beyond the entertainment industry and into electoral politics.
Although his political career did not result in a parliamentary seat, his participation reflected his interest in public affairs and national development.
