He will make the presentation during the event organized by the Department of Physics in collaboration with the College of Science Seminar Committee at KNUST.

The event is themed “Decoding Ghana’s Heritage with Arts and Science, from Adinkra to Algorithms.”

Mahama, a renowned Ghanaian contemporary artist, is known for his expansive installations and mixed-media creations, which explore themes of labor, migration, and globalization.

Utilizing materials like jute sacks, fabrics, and found objects, his pieces reflect Ghana’s socio-political landscape and broader African narratives, earning him international acclaim for his insightful commentary on contemporary issues.

The theme “Decoding Ghana’s Heritage with Arts and Science, from Adinkra to Algorithms” suggests an exploration of Ghana’s cultural heritage, blending traditional arts represented by Adinkra symbols with modern scientific concepts like algorithms. This interdisciplinary approach aims to uncover connections between traditional symbols and contemporary computational methods, highlighting the continuity and evolution of Ghanaian culture.

The seminar promises to be an educational and enlightening experience for all attendees.
