Rahim Ibrahim showcased his prowess on the field as he played a pivotal role in AS Trencin’s hard-fought draw against Dukla Banska Bystrica.
The match, held at the Narodny Atleticky Stadion, saw Ibrahim start the game and play the full duration, leaving an indelible mark with his performance.
Right from the onset, AS Trencin displayed dominance, controlling possession and patiently seeking openings in the opposition’s resolute five-man defensive setup.
The breakthrough for Trencin came in the opening stages, with Kmeť delivering a precise cross from the right flank, only for Hollé to narrowly miss the opportunity to convert.
Despite relentless pressure from Trencin, it was Dukla Banska Bystrica who initially threatened to take the lead, with Bondarenko squandering a clear chance from close range, followed by Soares striking the left post moments later.
However, Dukla Banska Bystrica’s persistence paid off in the second half, with Robert Polievka breaking the deadlock in the 58th minute after a well-executed cross from Veselovský.
Yet, the lead was short-lived as AS Trencin swiftly responded, equalizing the scoreline in the 70th minute. Rahim Ibrahim played a crucial role in this turnaround, providing the assist to Artur Gajdoš, whose shot found the back of the net with the aid of the left post, leveling the score at 1-1.
Rahim Ibrahim has played 18 games, scored four goals, and assisted two in the Slovakia Super Liga this season.
